No. F.11(10)/95-EB:-whereas the Lieutenant Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi is of the opinion that it is necessary and expedient so to do, for maintaining the supply and securing the equitable distribution of energy in the National Capital Territory of Delhi.

Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 22-R of the Indian Electricity Act, 1910 (9 of 1910) read with the Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs' Notifications No. 2/12/59- Judl.-II dated the 10th November, 1959 and all other powers enabling him in this behalf, the Lt. Governor of the National Capital Territory of Delhi hereby makes the following order further to amend the Delhi Electricity Control Order, 1959, namely:-

Short Title and Commence-ment

(1)

This order may be called the Delhi Electricity Control (Amendment) Order, 2001.

(2)

It shall come into force from the date of its publication in the official Gazette.

Amendment of clause 4C

In the Delhi Electricity Control Order, 1959, in clause 4C, after the second proviso, the following provisions shall be inserted namely:-

"Provided also that the electricity connections shall be sanctioned on demand except-

(a)

in area where the network is not existing; and

(b)

in case where there are specific order from any court disallowing grant of electric connections:

Provided also that the grant of permanent/provisions electricity connections shall not confer any legal right for regularization of building/land use and the electricity supply shall be liable for disconnection and removal of meter and service line without notice from the Board/licensee where the Government or the concerned competent government agency, such as MCD, DDA, DPCC, etc. conveys and initiates action for sealing/demolition/vacation of premises/land to discharge their statutory obligations"
